About The Band
Formed in Seattle, WA. in 2009, The Head and The Heart (THATH) blends elements of folk, rock, country and pop music. Mixing lush harmonies, catchy melodic hooks and a rich depth of lyrical content, THATH’s music has an infectious quality, and one easily finds oneself listening to their songs on repeat, over and over again. Their self-titled debut, recorded at Seattle’s Studio Litho, was independently released in 2010 and re-released in 2011 under the Sub Pop Records label.
The band’s live show is similarly engaging, with the band members’ radiating passion and exuberant energy as they give themselves to the soulful vocal lines and whirl around on stage during musical interludes. Audience members can’t help getting sucked into the magic being created on stage, and THATH always leaves the crowd on their feet dancing or tapping their toes to the music.
Fun fact: Warner Brothers originally told The Head and The Heart that their live act was not solid enough. They worked their asses off after that practicing 5 hours a day for a month and have become what they are today.
From their roots performing in coffee shops and small local venues to their recent adventures touring Europe with Death Cab for Cutie, performing as part of the Dave Matthews Band Caravan and launching their first-ever national headlining tour, the star of THATH is clearly on the rise.
